如:not at all这个短语。 Please take a look at it.这个句子中take a look at it是同一个意群,那么take与a可连读,look与at可连读,at与it可连读。在There is a book in it. He is a student.(is与a要连读) That is a right answer.(That与is,is和a,right和answer都可以连读) I'll be back in half an hour.(back和in,half和an,an与hour都可以连读) 2. 如:here and there，a pair of shoes连读。

Describe a place where people go to listen to music这个话题，很多考生没有去过theatre or music hall怎么办呢，只能硬着头皮假装自己去过。 首先我们看题，这道题下面的补充问题是 where it is what kind of music is performed there., what type of people go there how you know this place and explain your impressions of this place 我们就可以根据这些补充问题让我们的回答中充满更多细节。例如加入我们说广州大剧院（Guangzhou Opera House）说道where it is的时候，千万不可以说It’s in Guangzhou这么简单，我们可以补充说它facing the Zhujiang River，located on the beautiful Huacheng Square等等等等,这样有了许多细节我们的内容听上去才更加真实。 3. Describe a place near a lot of water that you enjoyed visiting. You should say: where this place was why (& when) you went there who you went there with and explain why you liked this place. A Seaside Place Describe a seaside place you enjoyed visiting. You should say: --where this place was --what you did at this place --who you went there with and explain why you liked this place. Describe a lake, river or any other place that used to be clean or quiet but now becomes polluted by noise or dirt. You should say: --what the place looked like before; --what it looks like now; --what are the causes of this change. Do you think people should recover it? Why? And how? 例如describe a party或者Talk about a birthday celebration you enjoyed或Describe a wedding you attended that has remained in your memory我们可以说一场party on the beach给我们留下了深刻的印象；Describe your hometown或者Describe tourism in your town or a nearby town我们可以说我们住在沿海城市，城市的海滩特别美，吸引了众多的游客；Describe the most interesting trip you have ever taken或者Tell me about a holiday you have taken也都可以说一次海边旅行。

比如在国外我们想点单，人家问：“What can I do for you?” 我们不能简单地回答成“french fries”，而是应该说成“can i have some french fries?” 比如，on it不应读成【on】【It】,而应读成【o】【nI】【t】，同样，first time中的两个【t】应读成一个【t】; 奥巴马在2008年芝加哥获胜演说中，读“must be”中的【t】也是不读出声的，读“could be”中的【d】彻底消失。 其实是“Dark red becomes you.” 许多同学会说成“The price is written on the tag.”其实是“The price is marked on the tag.”，因此要注意细节的把握。 比如“a member of your family you like most”就是典型地用英语描述一个人。 3.思辨式口语就是用英语就某一问题进行自我观点的阐述，比如在口语甚至是写作中都会经常出现一类关于讨论事物好与坏的这种题目，“Some people think TV has a positive effect on our society while others hold the opposite opinion. What do you think and explain why.” 在表明观点时，许多同学会说“I think”或“in my opinion”。但有更好的说法如“Frankly I think…”、“I mean…”等。表明肯定和否定未必就只有“yes”和“no”，还可以用“I’m with you on that.”、“I’m not so sure really.”

You only trouble is that(注意将only 拉长，并将trouble 和is连读) 4. tory & tary 都读[tri]，此招式太过简单，点到即可。 5.

And actually I cycle a lot everyday cus I’m living on a huge campus and I really need a bicycle to get about. I pedal here and there from the school buildings and the libraries to the supermarket and the student gym. How old were you when you first learned to ride a bicycle? It was when I was 8. I remember clearly that it was a sunny day and I was with my father. He showed me how he balanced when pedaling and then let me have a try. At first it was so hard that I just fell down again and again and I even thought of giving up. But anyway, I made it through and cycling has been a part of my life now. What kinds of people ride bicycles do you think? Well, it’s hard to say cus it seems that everyone has his or her own reason why he or she likes to ride a bicycle and it is difficult to generalize what kinds of people they are. But still, I guess, most people ride a bicycle for it is an effective and efficient way of transport, especially for short to mediate distances. And, if you cycle, you almost always avoid traffic congestions and you never worry about parking. However, some may take up cycling for a different reason. They regard it as a kind of physical exercise which burns fat and gives them a lean body. Others like fixie lovers just feel it a lot of fun when padeling. Are bicycles popular in China? There are nine million bicycles in Beijing That's a fact It's a thing we can't deny Like the fact that I will love you till I die Juxtaposition Facts and figures: 370million cyclists (2013) I would say a definite ‘yes’. According to the national statistics bureau，there are over 370 million people in China who use bicycles as their main way of transport.

A: Examiner B: Student IELTS TEST MOCK CONVERSATION—BAND 9 A: Good morning, my name is William, Could you tell me your full name, please? B: Good morning, my name is Linda. A: And, where do you come from? B: I come from China. A: Okay, may I have your identification card, please? B: Here it is. A: Thank you. A: Now I am going to ask you some questions about yourself. Do you work or are you a student? B: I am a student. A: And what subjects are you studying? B: Um, the British pattern curriculum, advanced levels; We study a range of different subjects, for example, the 5 main subjects as we like to call them. Um, they are English, Math, Physics, Chemistry and Economics. Apart from these, we also have P.E. and Biology, but now we are in a tense time since we are applying for overseas universities, this means that we have to drop some of the courses we have learnt before, such as biology and Math for doing college research and writing personal statements. A: Okay, let’s now talk a bit about yourself, um, how would you describe yourself? B: Well, I guess it’s fair to say that I am quite a laid-back person just like my mother. I like making friends and I like being sociable. Usually I am the life and soul of the party. A: Which characteristics do you think are the least appealing in a person? B: Well, I guess no body likes people who are very narrow-minded and are difficult to get on with, and it’s always nice when someone is open to other people’s opinions and willing to think from their own views, like in their shoes; and people who are two-faced can be a little irritating since I think relationships are built on trust and without honesty there’s not much left in a relationship, indeed. A: Okay, that’s the end of part one. Now for part two, I am going to give a card with some questions, okay? You will have about one minute to prepare your answers, and then you will have about one to two minutes to give a response. I will tell you when to start and when to stop, okay? B: Okay. A: all right, now you may use the notepaper and the pencil in front of you to take some notes in the one minute. Here is the question card. B: Okay. A: Your one-minute begins now. Describe a useful website that you like to visit. You should say: What contents does the website have? How and when you find the website? How often you go to the website? B: Well, I’d like to talk about Facebook. As every one knows, it is a website for personal social network launched by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, I guess. It has millions of active users worldwide and including China, though we have to use VPN to login. I signed up my own account in 2008 and I have been using it for almost, like every day. I am so fond of it since it enables its users to create a personal profile and then add other users as friends and exchange messages instantly. It is user-friendly since it is always nice to know what my friends are doing because of the function of automatic notifications when they update their profiles. Also, I may join in some common interest groups, organized by workplace, school, or colleges or other characteristics that people share in common. For example, I joined in a Baking Group last month so that I can share many baking recipes with my friends on that. As an international school student in China, I take every possible chance to integrate myself into the overseas community in advance, and Facebook is a good platform. Through Facebook I have made friends with many International students, as well as other overseas students in UK. It is the first time for me to have so many foreign friends and expose myself to western cultures. Take learning English as an example, it is said that the best way to learn English is to understand the culture and the logic thinking behind the local people. So as long as I keep logging on Facebook, I can keep chatting with the people who come from English-speaking countries so that I can understand how they express own opinion via some colloquial languages and learn to reply in different situations. It is really helpful to improve my spoken English and get more sociable by Facebook. A: all right, excellent. So, that’s the end of the part two. May I have the card back please? B: Yes, here, thank you. A: All right, so now I’m going to continue with part three, and ask you some more questions on some similar topics. Are you ready to continue? B: No problem. A: Okay, great, now lets talk about family members. Can you tell me something about your grandparents? B: Yes, um, my grandfather passed away when I was only 10 years old, which means that I do not have a clear, distinct memory of him quite much, but I have seen his picture, and I have heard stories about him from my mother, about how he worked as a pilot in the Chinese army when he was young. My grandma doesn't live with us now, but we usually visit her on special occasions. On my father's side, his mother----the other grandma, passed away when I was in primary school. Perhaps she died of eye cancer. I miss her very much because she had always been kind to me. Her husband now lives in the countryside areas now with my aunt, uncle and cousins as a retired worker. When I was a little child, I used to live with my grandparents because my parents were too busy to look after me. They took good care of me and were very fond of me because I'm the only girl in my generation. A: So what do you think are the roles of grandparents in Chinese families? B: Grandparents are the elders in a family, and they are the most respectable figures. They carry with them history and tradition, the deep marks of past years and the heavy burdens of their times. The grandparents of our generation grew up in the darkest times of war and bloodshed and the hardest times of reconstruction after the birth of new China, and they have a lot of stories from those times to tell their offspring, like me. Grandparents are also more traditional, and usually, it is them who accompany children and teach them how to behave and tell them about the traditional Chinese virtues. Without them, these would die out soon in the society, I think. A: Thank you for your answers. That’s the end of speaking test. B: Thank you.

B: Economics, Physics, Math and Biology. A: Okay, and do you take any sports? B: Yes. I often take an active part in many kinds of sports games, such as swimming, running and badminton, among which, playing badminton is always my greatest passion. I often invite some of my energetic friends to play badminton after class in the school grounds or in the local parks. A: what sports does most people play in your country? B: There are many sports played in China. Allow me to mention a few examples. Basketball and football are played mainly by the younger generation and football is popular amongst Chinese boys, however; sadly we don’t have a strong national team. All age groups play table tennis, better known as Ping-Pong. Because it is an indoor sport so it is particularly popular in winter. Swimming, skating, and volleyball are popular as well. A: okay, that’s the end of part one. Now for part two, I am going to give a card with some questions, okay? Describe a festival in your country. You should say: When is the festival usually held? How do people celebrate this festival? How do you like the festival? B: Well, I’d like to talk about Spring Festival. The festival is basically a celebration of the New Year and a farewell to the old year. According to the lunar calendar, it should start sometime in early February or late January. It is celebrated just to usher in a new year and to get rid of the demons from the older generation. It mixes a bit of religion, superstition and festivity of the new season. I do know that it used to be celebrated a lot in the streets with a big parade and two dragons chasing a ball. We still do that now, but not as much, mostly you will find that at the carnivals. People celebrate it by decorating their house with various emblems and also by getting together, having a big dinner, and giving pocket money. Together with all the family members, we often sit around and play cards or Mahjong after the big meals. On the second day, we often go around and visit friends. Another way people celebrate Spring Festival is by dressing up in new clothes, and we often go out and attend some outdoor carnivals, which basically sell a lot of things. I think that the reason Spring Festival is so popular is because a lot of our economy is planned around it. I mean, even though we do think of January as the beginning of the year officially, many think of Spring Festival as the real beginning of the financial year. Also, because the holiday stretches for around 30 days, it gives many people a chance to reunite with their family for the longest period of the year. In that sense you could say that it is like Christmas in the west. A: All right, excellent. So, that’s the end of the part two. May I have the card back please? B: Yes, here thanks. A: All right, so now I’m going to continue with part three, and ask you some more general questions on related topics. Are you ready to continue? B: No problem. A: Okay, great. So, lets first talk about competitions in schools. Why do you think some schoolteachers use competitions as class activities? B: Well, I think one important responsibility of teacher is to promote the students’ desire to be eager to study and prepare them for the future. Competition never sleeps among students. This is an awareness without which anyone joining the labor market would not succeed. So I think it's always better to realize the cruelty before the students get shocked in the future. A: Do you think it is a good thing to give prizes to children who do well at school? And why? B: Yes, I do think so. For one thing, people by nature make all their efforts to gain the most pleasure and avoid pain. Children love games and having fun indeed, and they hate study. So if a child achieves something at school, a prize will apparently enhance his or her sense of satisfactory, which has always resulted in constant good performance. For the other, those children who cannot get the prize would feel that they want the same thing. Then prizes become a strong motivator for them. A: Would you say that schools for young children have become more or less competitive since you were that age? Why? B: I would say, as far as I know, schools in China have more and more fierce competition these days. Children in primary schools are requested by their parents and teachers to acquire the knowledge for secondary school students, only as a preparation for their future school entrance examination. Once they pass the exam, the vicious circle continues even more. Secondary school students spend a huge amount of time doing studies much beyond their capability. It was not like this when I was a child. I had more fun and more time to enjoy myself. A: Okay, yes, thank you for your answers. That’s the end of the speaking test. B: Thank you.

Could you tell me your full name, please? B: Good morning, my name is Sara. A: Thank you, and can you tell me where do you come from? B: I am from China. A: Okay, may I have your identification card, please? B: Sure, here you are. A: Thank you. That’s fine. A: Now I am going to ask you some questions about yourself. Do you work or are you a student? B: I am a student. A: And what subjects are you studying? B: Economics, Physics, Math and Biology. A: Why do you choose these subjects, like Biology? B: Well, I like biology very much, and Biology is important in our life. A: What do you hope to do when you finish your studies? B: Well, I’m planning to complete my higher studies, so I would probably go to a graduate school in USA, and eventually I would do a PhD degree and be a professor in Biology at the university in China. A: Okay, now let’s talk about weekends. What do you usually do at the weekend? B: Well, usually I go to visit my relatives, or even friends, but sometimes I stay at home, just for if I have exams or something to study. But most of time I spend time with my friends, going out, or to drink something or to go shopping. A: What do you think that you will do in next weekend? B: Well, next weekend I have planed to go on a trip to Sichuan. I am very excited about it. A: Um, why? B: Because I heard that Sichuan is a very ancient place, with lots of delicacies to taste. I like history and I like food. A: Do you enjoy your weekends now more than you did when you were a child? B: Well, not really. When I was a child, I just spent all my weekends playing, but now I have lots of concerns, like sometimes I have to stay at home to study, so when I was a child I enjoyed my weekend more. A: Now let’s talk about music. Do you like music? B: Yes, I like to listen to music for relaxation and sometimes I go to the concerts. A: Do you prefer to listen to live music or recorded music? B: Well, recorded definitely. I don’t like live music because I always feel that live music is too loud for me. I can control the volume if I am listening to recorded music. A: And do you think music can help you study? B：Yes, I always listen to music when I am studying. It makes me more concentrated on the work. A: Thank you. Okay, that’s the end of part one. B: Okay. A: Okay, your one-minute begins now. Topic card Describe a special gift you have given to someone. You should say: - Who you would like to give this gift to - What the gift would be - How much it would cost, and explain why you would like to give this gift to this person. B: Um, a special gift I gave to my mother was a necklace. It was sent to her on a mother’s day. Actually I had been to many different shops to search for what I planed to give my mother, because you know whatever you give to your mother, it’s the idea that counts. I looked for different shops, and finally I decided to take a very lovely necklace with a small key on it. It was not very expensive, because I did not have so much money on my hands. I asked the shopper to wrap the necklace for me with very colored papers and a red tie. On that day, I hid the gift in my room since I didn’t tell her about the gift. When I actually handed the gift to her, she was really excited about the necklace and she was almost in tears. She told me that no matter how simple the gift is, as long as I think about it, she would be happy. Since then she has been wearing the necklace, when she goes out, or she goes to grocery shops, and she often tell her friends that how lucky she is to have a daughter like me. A: all right, excellent. So, that’s the end of the part two. May I have the card back please? B: Yeah, here thanks. A: All right, so now I’m going to continue with part three, and ask you some more questions on some similar topics. Are you ready to continue? B: No problem. A: Okay, great. So, lets talk about some more general questions related to this. On what occasions do family members gives gifts to each other in China? B: Well usually in China people give gifts to each other on festivals and birthday parties. For example, the older people like to give pocket money to younger kids in the family on Spring Festival in China. That is part of the customs of traditional festivals. And sometimes if any member graduates from university or college she or he usually receives gifts. A: Okay, well, do people usually spend a lot of money on them? B: Sometimes, sometimes. But um, it depends on the person who sends them. It is dependent on their financial status. A: Well, let’s talk about the kind of gifts that children give to their older family members? B: That is really interesting. Children tend to think things from their own view, for example, if a small kid is going to give her father a gift, she may give him a toy. She might think that I like it, so my father would like it as well. Their minds are really simple and really lovely. A: Okay, yes, thank you for your answers. That’s the end of the speaking test. B: Thank you.
